Senior Level Designer

Tripwire Interactive is currently looking for a Senior Level Designer to join the team behind the hit Killing Floor and acclaimed Red Orchestra series. As an independent studio and publisher, Tripwire develops the games that they want, on their own schedule. As Senior Level Designer you will have the opportunity to work with a design team that has already created some of the most popular multiplayer shooters in the world. The Senior Level Designer will have both the technical expertise and gameplay understanding to create more of the levels that have made our games so successful.   • Design and build levels for single player, Co-Op PvE and PvP multiplayer gameplay
  • Build levels from the ground up using the Unreal Engine 4
  • Work with design, art and programming to achieve specific goals
  • Analyze and critique all designs in the game and give feedback on how to improve them
  • Observe and participate in playtests while gathering feedback
  • Use feedback to make refinements to designs



  • Senior Level Designer experience on at least one product from start to finish
  • At least 3-5 years of experience as a level designer
  • Experience in rapid prototyping to test feasibility of proposed concepts
  • Proficiency with a professional level design tool such as Unreal Engine 3, 4 or other modern game engine editor
  • Shipped title experience with both single player campaigns and multiplayer
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to take critique, be humble, and respectful of peers
  • Able to focus and work without micro-management


Preference to applicants with:

  • 5+ years industry experience
  • 2+ shipped titles which were a first-person shooter
  • Unreal Engine 4 level creation and design experience
  • Unreal Engine 4 blueprint level scripting experience
  • Ability to use 3d modeling tools such as 3ds Max or Modo
  • Solo, multiplayer, and co-op design experience
  • Extensive quest design creation and integration
  • Shipped AAA game/s a plus
  • Multi-platform development experience
  • Scrum/Agile methodology experience
