Job Description

Character Artist

Tripwire is looking for a talented character artist to and create visually stunning AAA quality games. The candidate will work directly with the Art Director and  character art team to develop content for multiple IPs.

Responsibilities:

  • Create high resolution sculpts, clean low resolution meshes, unwrap, and project in your software of choice.

  • Unwrap and Texture keeping all resolution and memory requirements in mind.

  • Gracefully provide and receive critique from artist at Tripwire.

  • Work alongside the Art Director and other artists in the team to further push our quality bar upward.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of professional character art experience on a AAA PC or console title

  • Must be able to provide a portfolio that demonstrates skills and experience

  • A strong understanding of composition, color theory,  shape language, and anatomy both human and animal.

  • Excellent communications skills with the ability to communicate verbally and visually.

  • Ability to communicate well outside of the character art department.

  • Self motivated and driven personality.

Preference to applicants with: 

  • Shipped at least 2 PC or Console title as a character artist

  • Experience with Unreal Engine 3/4

  • Experience creating custom materials with UE3/UE4

  • Experience developing in the first person and/or third person shooter genre

  • A familiarity with Tripwire games.
